FAQ
Everything you need to know
Clear answers to help you feel informed and confident about your care.
01What's included in a first visit?
A new-patient visit takes about an hour: an exam, X-rays if your dentist decides you need them, and a conversation about your goals. You leave with a written plan and an estimate for any treatment.
02Do you take my insurance?
We bill PPO and indemnity dental plans and file the claim for you. Whether we are in network depends on your plan, so our front desk checks your benefits before your visit and tells you what to expect. How fees work explains the rest.
03What if I don't have insurance?
You pay the fee for your visit, and we give you a written estimate before treatment starts. Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender.
04Do you accept Medicaid or CHIP?
Call us before you book and we will tell you plainly whether we can see you on your plan.
05What if I'm nervous about dental work?
Tell us when you arrive. We explain each step before we start, and you can raise a hand at any time to pause. Headphones and breaks are always available.
06Will it hurt?
We numb the area before treatment that needs it and stop when you ask. Some soreness afterward is common, and your dentist explains what to expect and when to call us.
07How often do I need X-rays and a cleaning?
Your dentist decides, based on your teeth and gums. Many people come every six months, and some need to come more or less often.
08How long do whitening and veneers last?
It varies from person to person, and with what you eat and drink and how you care for them. Your dentist explains the options, the upkeep and what to expect before you choose.
09Do you see children?
Yes, for exams and cleanings. We suggest a first visit by the first birthday or when the first tooth appears. If a child needs a pediatric dentist, we refer you.
10What counts as a dental emergency?
Trouble breathing or swallowing, bleeding that won't stop, or swelling that spreads to your face or neck: call 911 first. For a broken or knocked-out tooth, or a toothache that can't wait, call us and we will tell you what to do first.
11Do you offer sedation?
We use local numbing and do not offer IV or general sedation. If you would like sedation for a procedure, we refer you to a dentist who holds the state permit for it.
12How do I change or cancel a visit?
Call or text us as early as you can and we will find a new time. Ask the front desk for our cancellation policy.
